Recording an offer

Last updated: 2026-05-29

An offer is a number (and any terms) one party puts on the table for another. ADR Sentinel records each offer to the case ledger so you always have an accurate, timestamped picture of where the negotiation stands.

Record an offer

  1. Open the case and make sure you're on the Ledger tab.
  2. Find the party making the offer and click + Record Offer.
  3. In the Record Offer modal, fill in:
  4. Offer Made To — the party receiving the offer (required).
  5. Amount ($) — the dollar figure (required). To enter a range instead of a single number, click Use Bracket — see Using brackets.
  6. In Response to Demand (optional) — link this offer to a prior demand it answers, so the back-and-forth stays connected.
  7. Note / Context (optional) — anything you want to remember about how or why the offer was made.
  8. Non-Monetary Terms (optional) — conditions beyond the dollars (e.g. "full mutual release, payment within 30 days").
  9. Click Record Offer.

The offer appears immediately in the ledger under the offering party and is written to the Working Log with a timestamp.

Offers from more than one party

If several parties are extending a single coordinated offer, check Joint Offer in the modal and select the co-offering parties. See Joint offers.

After it's recorded

You can change or pull back an offer at any time — see Editing or withdrawing entries. When an offer is accepted, mark it settled from the ledger and the case's settlement state updates automatically.
